AATMANIRBHAR BHARAT

HOW CAN SCHOOL CHILDREN CONTRIBUTE TO NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT?

ARUN KUMAR M

“THE FUTURE DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU DO TODAY” – MAHATMA GANDHI

Every story in this world requires a beginning. Every success in this world also needs a beginning. India, the motherland of many individuals, is also moving towards achieving the greatest success termed as self-sufficiency (AATMANIRBHAR) under the rule of our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan announced on 12 May 2020 is the vision of our Honorable Prime Minister of India. He has a vision towards making India a self-reliant nation. His vision was the vision of many other leaders in the country. However, people did not take it much forward due to various obstacles that existed in the previous century. Now there is great awareness among people and patriotism takes a different meaning these days.

However, I personally feel that this awareness level is still not enough and the economic and social factors too stand in the way of achieving this mission. Therefore, self-sufficiency would exist as a vision or dream only with the participation of adults. It would come to reality only when the future generation (i.e. schoolchildren) also takes up the mission as their own responsibility to make their country shine among the other countries in the world.

India, being the youngest nation in the world, needs to utilize its existing resources in the country that are still left behind uncared for by the public and sold for money by people who don’t care about the improvement of the country. This situation should change across the entire country. This would happen when schoolchildren are completely aware of all those issues that are prevailing in the country. This awareness should instigate the feeling of nationalism in the heart of every child of the country.

“If you own something knowing about its value, you would never destroy it.” This is the mentality of every individual in the world. When the feeling of nationalism stays in the heart of every child, they will neither destroy the country nor allow others to destroy the country. Thus, the first and major threat to the country is eliminated, ensuring safety in the country.

Schoolchildren have the greatest creativity compared to adults. If every child is determined to make his or her creativity into reality, then most of the innovations of the world would originate from India. This would happen when their curiosity is encouraged by the Government of India. This creativity would help them solve the crises that are prevailing at present. It would also help them to create their own ways of making the country better in all fields compared to other countries at a much faster speed. Thus, the country moves forward towards achieving self-sufficiency.

I think that a great question may arise in the minds of everyone who reads this carefully. Adults too could make a lot of difference now rather than schoolchildren in later years. However, you should also remember that it is not easy for adults to change themselves. But a child can be taught at the beginning of his learning so that he never forgets it. This would have a stronger impact when compared to the change that is just induced in adults.

I believe that my essay contains a few errors. I request you to read it carefully to find them. I say this in the belief that you would read it twice or thrice and understand the complete meaning that I have tried to express in the above lines. This essay is just material for those who read it as an essay. But it is a stepping stone for success for those who take it as a lesson. Praying to the almighty for the success of Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, I would end my essay here and not my efforts in making my country self-sufficient.
