Forced to beat the clock,
He started to play a game
With squares of black and white,
Filled with pieces of power at the ends.
Starting off with the strongest piece,
Sacrificed, as they were more in number,
The opponent too lost his strongest piece —
The only one moving in all directions.
As it grew more interesting,
With diagonals alone left for both,
Both decided to give up their victory.
Yet they won in their own ways.
It is not only a game of chess,
But the game of life —
With diagonals of improvement,
Different skills as strengths.
