A SIMPLE SMILE

It was a frantic day

For those two souls I held,

Employed not for pay,

But for the bond we shared.

My life revolved around

Their fleeting moments of joy.

Yet time twisted paths,

Turning my presence into their woe.

With the anger I unleashed upon them,

I felt unworthy of their love,

A burden, striving to be their breadwinner,

Yet falling short of their expectations.

Caught in a slump, I sought a spark.

With troubles and trolls around the corner,

I wish to spare no effort

To bring them a simple smile.
